John McGrath, Member for South Perth announced that the City of South Perth had received $290,180 for upgrade of the Bill Grayden Pavilion in Como. The upgrade includes, the change-rooms, toilets, kitchen storage, umpires room and office space The grant was one of the 46 community sport and recreation projects State-wide funded through the 2012/13 Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).
This round’s successful applicants will share in a total of $15,088,000 in funding.
Mr McGrath said that sport and recreation played such a valuable role in the South Perth community.
“I congratulate our local recipients and I look forward to seeing this grant make a big difference to people in the community, through both the improvements to the facilities and the benefits that come from increasing participation in sport and recreation,” he said.
The CSRFF provides Western Australian Government financial assistance to community groups and local government authorities to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation.
Grants of up to $4million are available on a one-third contribution basis of the total eligible project cost.
