Clontarf celebrates $2M grant

On Wednesday 5 September I was grateful to attend Clontarf Aborignal College’s opening ceremony for the Ngulla Mia Girl’s Boarding facilities.

With the help of a $2 million grant from the Liberal National State Government, the new facilities will house up to 40 Aboriginal girls from around Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The new facility was blessed by Monsignor Michael Keating, Chairman of the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia and officially opened by the Hon. Peter Collier, Minister of Education, Energy and Indigenous Affairs.

I extend my congratulations to the Clontarf Aboriginal College board and principal Tony Chinnock for the great work that they’re doing in educating young Aboriginal boys and girls.

Stage one of the complex was officially opened by the Queen last year during her visit to Perth for CHOGM.
