Boost for conservation: Group’s efforts receive funding

The State Government has provided $7,500 to the Mt Henry Peninsula Conservation Group for weed control on the escarpment of Mt Henry Peninsula under the fourth round of its Environmental Community Grants program.

The program is spread across eight key areas – biodiversity conservation; sustainable catchment management; fauna rescue and rehabilitation; interpretation and sustainable recreation in natural areas; regional parks, Bush Forever; support for major conservation and environment organisations; and protection of high value areas by landholders on private land.

“The grants acknowledge the tremendous contribution people and organisations make to maintaining or restoring the nature of Western Australia.

“Many individuals and community groups are doing valuable conservation work and the Government is proud to support their efforts through this program”, said South Perth MLA John McGrath.
