Southcare – a community of volunteers dedicated to helping the citizens of South Perth – is pleased to celebrate 30 years of service. A festive service was held last Thursday where Southcare’s history was remembered and its long-serving members recognised for their contributions.
John McGrath was in attendance in celebrating Southcare’s achievement. He said that “Southcare is a well-respected, integral part of our community. All volunteers have shown considerable compassion and generosity, and I thank them for dedicating their time to such a worthy cause”.
Southcare first opened in April 1982 when concerned citizens from local churches assisted state housing residents in Karawara. In the years since, Southcare has progressed into a respected not-for-profit organisation which is the lifeline for many members of the South Perth community.
