Today I commemorated Remembrance Day with the City of South Perth and the Sub-Branch of the Returned and Services League in the City’s Memorial Gardens in South Perth.
I was pleased to see a good crowd in attendance and it was great to catch up with so many respected local identities.
The service was attended by a number of returned servicemen from the electorate of South Perth, including Alastair McPherson. Alastair was President of the Manning Sub-Branch until it amalgamated with the City of South Perth Sub-Branch. He previously held the position of Vice President of the City of South Perth Sub-Branch RS, and now is a Committee member. He was a marine engineer and he made trips to Korea delivering troops and supplies to the Korean War.

Congratulations to the South Perth and Manning Sub-Branch of the Returned and Services League for organising such a heartfelt service.
