South Perth MLA John McGrath said he was very disappointed that his electorate had been overlooked in the budget.
“I am not happy that there has been no funding set aside in the forward estimates for the South Perth train station,” he said.
“While people in that part of my electorate had mixed views on the need for a station, I believe it is important for the future development of that precinct and also for the many people who visit the Perth Zoo annually.
“I understand that these are tough economic times but projects such as the Manning Road freeway on-ramp and underground power in South Perth, Kensington, Manning and Salter Point have also been overlooked.
“Over the past four years I have identified these projects as being important to people in my electorate. I will continue to lobby ministers in the hope that they will be considered when economic times improve.”
